SO DISAPPOINTED...

On Saturday, I entered the theatre filled with anticipation for "Harry Potter 4: The Goblet of Fire". I had treacherously waited for over a week for that moment. We watched it at the Paramount in downtown just for the IMAX screen. Such a hardcore HP fan; such a dork! HA. Anyway, judging by the title of this post, I'm sure you can figure out how it went. What a let down. How could they do this to the best book of the whole series?
Why did they have to ruin my favourite character? (I'm going to try to not ruin the plot for anyone who hasn't watched it yet, but if you haven't watched it already, then you're obviously not a die-hard HP fan so you probably wouldn't care much anyway.) My favourite character is Dumbledore. For this movie they had to cast a new guy since the actor who played him in the first three movies died in real life. This new guy sucks! Ruined the entire movie for me. I really wanted to just jump into the screen and smack him across the face. I would have done it, if I could. Especially in the scene right after Harry's name is pulled out of the goblet, Dumbledore rushes into the room and nearly strangles Harry. Dumbledore would never do that. He's suppose to be calm and collected, very wise and protective. I bet this new Dumbledore didn't even read the books. He's got the character all wrong. He can't even pronounce the words right. I hope they get a new actor to play Dumbledore for the next movies, otherwise I'll be cheering during the 6th movie.

I just went to tribute.ca and posted this review:
I was rather disappointed by this movie. Definitely not my favourite of the four, mainly because they ruined my favourite character for me by choosing the wrong actor to play the new Dumbledore. He obviously didn't read the books, since he didn't understand the character at all! They cut out a lot out of the book and changed some of the story in order for it to make sense, but I guess that it's understandable due to the time constraint. I liked how they introduced a lot of new characters (although some of them didn't look the way I imagined), but that just meant that each of them only appeared in about two scenes. Very poor character development; some were completely missing altogether. However, the bond between Harry, Ron and Hermione was played out pretty well (would have liked to see more emphasis put on Ron and Hermione's relationship though).

There are other things I would like to complain about the movie...but it's getting late and I should go sleep now. Good night.

    Hug.

Holy cow Steph. You don't post for like twenty days and then we get three posts in one?

    I like that.

    BTW, countdown: 27 days left.
